Local SEO: common questions

What is a local rank grid?
A local rank grid runs the same keyword as a live Google Maps search from evenly spaced points around a business, then shows the position at each point. It reveals how visibility changes across a service area instead of reporting one average position. AIORadar offers 3×3, 5×5, 7×7 grids.
How much does a grid scan cost?
Each grid point is one live Google Maps search and costs 4 credits, so a 3×3 is 36 credits, a 5×5 is 100 credits, a 7×7 is 196 credits. Points that return no results are refunded, and the total is shown before the scan runs. Local grids are included on paid plans.
How do I improve my local rankings across a service area?
Start with a grid to see where visibility drops off, then work on the signals Google uses for local results: a complete and accurate Business Profile, the right primary category, consistent name, address and phone details across directories, steady new reviews, and location or service pages on your site. Rerun the same keyword, grid size and spacing after meaningful changes to compare against your baseline.
Do I need to connect Google Business Profile to run a grid?
No. A grid runs from any location you choose on the map. Connecting a Business Profile is only needed for profile health, performance data and writing confirmed fixes back to the listing.
What does the citations check look for?
It compares the business name, address and phone number across directory listings so you can see which listings disagree with the Business Profile and need updating. Citation checks are included on paid plans, up to 5, 15 or 50 a month on Starter, Growth and Agency, and each business can be rechecked once every 24 hours.
Does connecting Google Business Profile let AIORadar change my listing?
Only where you tell it to, and only in three places. Google publishes a single management scope for Business Profile data, so this connection — unlike Search Console and GA4, which are strictly read-only — is not read-only. AIORadar uses it to read your listing and to write back the description, website, and phone changes you confirm on screen. Posts are drafted for you to copy and publish yourself; AIORadar never publishes to your profile. The connection is optional, and only needed for Local SEO.
Does local SEO affect Google’s AI features?
Business Profile information feeds local answers in Google’s AI features as well as the map pack, so the same fixes to your profile, categories, reviews and citations serve both. No tool can guarantee how either will show a business.
